What Are The Effects Of HHC?

HHC

HHC has been lauded by many as an excellent alternative to traditional cannabis.  But what exactly is HHC?  Does it get you high?  If you’re wondering about the effects of HHC, then you’re in the right place.  Read on to learn the answers to these questions and more.

In the meantime, you can discover the effects of HHC for yourself by shopping our selection of lab tested HHC blunts and prerolls.

What is HHC?

Before we delve into the effects of HHC, let’s cover the basics.  HHC is a cannabinoid that was first discovered in the 1940s by American chemist Roger Adams.  Adams added hydrogen to THC, which created HHC.  This process of hydrogenation is still used today to make products such as margarine.

HHC vs THC

The addition of hydrogen changes the molecular structure, which has a couple main effects on the HHC.  The first effect, is that the HHC molecular structure is shaped differently from that of THC.  This causes HHC to have a different interaction with our CB1 receptors.  These receptors are responsible for the high that we feel after consuming a cannabinoid.  Though HHC doesn’t attach to these receptors as securely as THC does, there still is an attachment, which means that HHC is psychoactive.

Additionally, HHC is more shelf stable than THC.  This means that it is less susceptible to damage from light, heat, and oxygen.

HHC effects

As I just mentioned, HHC is psychoactive.  That means users will feel high after ingesting it.  Classic effects to expect from HHC include relaxation, euphoria, altered sense of time, and changes to vision and auditory processing.  If you’ve ever smoked weed, it’s just about the same, with slightly less potency.  That being said, if you’re craving a stronger experience, simply consume more HHC and you’ll have one.  HHC is a versatile cannabinoid that offers the ability to get stoned without slowing down.  It can also be used to unwind before bed.  Whatever you’re after, HHC might be the missing piece.

HHC side effects

Just like THC, HHC does have some side effects to be aware of.  They are essentially what you’d experience when enjoying traditional cannabis.  In case you’re unfamiliar, you can expect to encounter dry mouth, red eyes, increased appetite, and increased heart rate.

Anxiety and paranoia are also a risk; however, it’s possible that the reduced potency will lessen the chance of this happening.  While HHC needs to be studied more, this is the case with delta 8, another form of THC that is less potent than the traditional.  As seen in this survey, the majority of delta 8 users questioned denied experiencing anxiety or paranoia.  If you’re prone to those negative effects, then the reduced potency in HHC could be for you.

My own experience

Anecdotally, I’ve found the effects of HHC to mirror the effects of traditional cannabis.  However, the main difference I’ve encountered, is that the HHC high is more stimulating than the THC high.  I feel more alert and focused.  It truly is the ideal cannabinoid if you’re looking to experience a nice buzz without bringing your productivity to a screeching halt.  I also feel less burnt out when the high wears off.

The bottom line

The effects of HHC are pretty similar to those of cannabis.  Users can expect to feel relaxed, euphoric, hungry, sleepy… Basically, expect to feel high.  What I personally love about HHC is that it doesn’t bring my productivity to a standstill.  Since HHC is less potent than traditional delta 9 THC, you can have the best of both worlds.  If a mild buzz is what you’re after? HHC.  Looking to get toasted?  HHC, but more of it.
